Which stage of outreach are you at?

I often hear revenue leaders talk about the tricky balance between scale and personalization in cold outbound...

Which camp do you find yourself in?

Here's my simple breakdown of scale vs. personalization in cold outbound 🚀

Level 1: Basic Tools
Starting out, many teams use CRMs like Salesforce and HubSpot to fire off templated messages. It's plug-and-play, but response rates may not be the best? If you're getting little engagement, this approach might be why.

Level 2: Personalization Overload
Some SDRs go the opposite route—handwriting messages for target accounts and manually researching each lead. Sure, it feels good to hit "send" on something truly personalized, but there's only 8 hours in the day!! Is it worth spending time on this instead of selling???

Level 3: Scale at Any Cost
Tools like Outreach.io and Salesloft let you blast out messages using multiple inboxes and domains. The trade-off? You default to templated sequences with demographic-based personalization. This allows you to target a wider ICP but if your response rate is weak, you're likely missing the mark.

Level 4: Scale + Personalization = 🔥🔥🔥
At the top of the pyramid, you're leveraging cutting-edge tools (like Rocketbrew) to fully automate your prospecting efforts. Imagine getting automated messages that are still tailored, thanks to research from sources like websites, LinkedIn, and 10Ks. This approach can lead to a high volume of responses, but it requires high quality model inputs.
